Introduction
The Armenian Hotel Association is a non-profit organization founded in 2006 through the initiative of a group of hotels with the support of the USAID CAPS project. Our association is governed by a Board of Directors elected from member Hotels throughout Armenia.

Objectives of the Association
1. To represent Armenian hotels nationally and internationally,
2. To develop/train the workforce,
3. To work towards improving legal and tax fields and creating a more favorable legislative and tax environment for Armenian hotels,
4. To serve as an Information Center for Members and Non-Members,
5. Increase number of Members,
6. Cooperate with other tourism industry Associations.

AHA activities
The Armenian Hotel Association, in cooperation with the USAID-funded CAPS and AED projects, has organized and conducted training programs for the staff and management of hotels. The trainers are high profile specialists from various countries. Several meetings have also been organized with tax specialists and consultants.

In September 2006, the Armenian Hotel Association was represented at the Armenia-Diaspora Conference and participated in a tourism roundtable as part of the business forum of the Conference.

Although the Association is a relatively young organization, new hotels have already begun to join. The Armenian Hotel Association encourages all Armenian hotels to join,in order to work actively to promote Armenian hotels and for the efficient development of tourism in Armenia.

The Armenian Hotel Association also invites the participation of companies whose business interests are connected to hotels and hotel operation.

The Armenian Hotel Association will continue conducting training programs, providing specialists and consultancies to help solve specific hotel-related problems, and contributing to the effective development of the hotel sector. The Association will continue to work with its members, specialists, Government and Parliament to create a more favorable legal, tax, and customs environment for the benefit of one of the most important components of the tourism industry.
